It was a beautiful spring day in NYC and I am so excited to be Theo’s NYC proposal photographer. Theo has been planning to propose to his five-year long-term girlfriend, Carmel for a while. I went upstairs on this beautiful afternoon in the lively city streets to Carmel and Theo’s NYC apartment rooftop in Soho. There was a beautiful floral setup that Theo and his family had prepared the night before. It looked so romantic with the NYC skyscraper backdrop and was the perfect secluded area for a private proposal. It was on the windier side this afternoon but it was still a sunny bright day for a NYC proposal.
As I stayed hidden behind a small rooftop building, I heard the noises of the staircase door and knew it was the couple walking over. Carmel was stunned at the beautiful preparations. It caught her by surprise and she realizes what’s about to happen. I capture every moment of it as the true feelings sink in. From the moment Theo kneels on his knees with the ring box in hand to put the beautiful customized ring on her finger. It was the sweetest thing to witness and a wonderful sight to photograph.
Congratulations! She said yes! I am so happy for both of you, Carmel and Theo!
It was such an emotional moment between the two. It was a romantic New York City proposal to photograph. The joy and love were so evident as I documented it as a photographer. After a few more private moments, I guide them for a quick couple session. Their dog, Macho, joined in as a cute family photo. After a quick outfit change, we finished the session with them standing against the NYC skyscraper backdrop. It was a special moment for them and I loved capturing every aspect of it as a NYC proposal photographer.
