A Winter Westchester Wedding at Le Chateau in South Salem, NY

Le Chateau Banquet in Westchester, NY

It was a crisp winter day for a Westchester wedding in South Salem, NY. The sun softly filtered through the clouds, creating a slight warmth on my face. As I walked through the quiet neighborhood, the cool air and the calmness set a serene tone for the day. The pristine layer of untouched snow blankets the sidewalk. It sparkles in the light, glistening as if each flake is a tiny jewel resting on the ground. I am so excited to photograph Jenn and Danny’s big winter wedding day in South Salem at Le Chateau!

Groom Wedding Details at The J House

This winter wedding day starts with the groom, Danny, getting ready at The J House Greenwich in Connecticut. The soft morning light glows through the frosty windows. I start the morning by capturing the groom’s details—his suit, shoes, and tie—before the hustle and bustle of the day fully begins. As the groomsmen party prepares, I focus on candid moments, from a groomsmen helping the groom with the suspenders to the father helping the groom with his black tux. As everyone in the grooms suite starts to finish getting dressed, I can hear more excitement through their conversations.

First Look For Westchester Wedding

After the groom finished getting dressed for his Westchester Wedding day, we headed over to the Binney Park. This park was beautifully blanketed with a light layer of untouched snow from the night before. There was a lake in the middle of the park, and it was beautifully frozen. As Danny waits for the bride for the first look moment, I could see the frosted air coming out of his breath. This didn’t bother him though. The groom grew up playing hockey and was extremely passionate about the sport. I could tell as he stood there that he was fully in his element in this beautiful winter weather!

Jenn arrives at the park with a party bus a few moments later. I could see Danny’s excitement as he heard her walk up to him. As he turns around for his first look of Jenn in her white wedding dress, I capture his raw emotions. His reaction to his bride was so genuine, natural, and candid. They took a few moments to themselves before we went into wedding portraits.

Outdoor Winter Wedding Portraits in NY

After the first look, it was time for the wedding photos. We had a mix of candid and posed wedding photos. My wedding photography style typically includes the standard wedding photos that can be framed forever. But, I especially love using the wedding veil to make some of the photos more creative.

South Salem Wedding Party Photos

After the wedding photos, we went straight to the wedding party photos. The bride and groom took turns getting their photos taken with their closest friends and families. This was a black tie wedding theme. Everyone looked stunning with their black wedding tux and black bridesmaid dresses. The black fur that the bridesmaids are wearing around them make the wedding outfits extra stylish and timeless. This was perfect for a winter wedding, as we took more photos outside before heading back to the ceremony.

South Salem Wedding Ceremony

When we finished the wedding portraits and wedding party photos, we headed back for the wedding ceremony. This winter wedding ceremony took place at St. Catherine of Siena Church! Jenn walked in with her dad and down the wedding aisle. It was a beautiful moment as she was handed off to Danny.

Huge congratulations to Jenn and Danny for such a beautiful wedding ceremony!

Le Chateau Wedding Venue

After the Connecticut wedding ceremony, it was time to head to the wedding venue in South Salem. Le Chateau is a luxury NY wedding venue that offers a breathtaking setting for a wedding, where elegance and natural beauty seamlessly blend. The venue’s French-inspired architecture features stunning stone walls and large windows that frame sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. The epic ice sculpture piece placed outside of South Salem’s wedding venue doors welcomes guests. A large contrast in temperature sweeps through as you walk through Le Chateau, especially with two grand fireplaces placed throughout the South Salem wedding venue.

Bride and Groom at Le Chateau, South Salem

Before all the guests trickled in for the reception, we photographed more wedding portraits at this South Salem wedding venue. The wedding couple romantically walked along the perfectly layered of untouched snow. With the sun setting behind them, I was captivated by the warmth and sophisticated atmosphere in the midst of winter. It was so fun to see them in their element on a snowy winter day. Their excitement glowed throughout the Le Chateau wedding portraits. I did not want this moment to end!

Le Chateau Wedding Reception

After the sun finally finished setting, we headed back inside for the reception. Inside, the grand ballroom impresses with its high ceilings, sparkling chandeliers, and luxurious details. From the first dance to the speeches, it was a heartwarming reception at Le Chateau. We ended the night with a private sparkler exit with Jenn’s bridesmaids. This New York wedding couple laughed with joy as they walked through the sparklers with excitement. It was a wonderful way to end the night!

Congratulations again to Jenn and Danny for a romantic winter wedding at Le Chateau! Check out more wedding galleries with Mel and JP at Gran Centurion and Alyssa and Rob at Edgewood Country Club.
