Chelsea, New York
I’m so happy that Claire and James finally got a beautiful fall afternoon for their NYC engagement session! These two are so sweet and fun to photograph throughout the city. I had the best time exploring Chelsea, New York with them as they got comfortable in front of the camera throughout the NYC engagement session.
Chelsea Couple’s Love Story
Claire and James met at a bar in the Meatpacking District. It has been five years since they started dating. James officially popped the question at Long Beach Island last summer! It was a beautiful private moment shared between the two during the July 4th weekend. Claire obviously said yes and the engagement ring is extremely beautiful. Their friends and families were also there to celebrate such a beautiful and intimate proposal on the beach.
These two live in the city, near Chelsea, and are extremely adventurous. They enjoy doing different sports, whether it’s together or individually. While James does a lot of mountain climbing, Claire runs marathons! Claire even just finished the New York City marathon two weeks before this NYC engagement session! They are so supportive of each other’s hobbies and their love for each other cannot be more obvious. I’m so excited to celebrate their love this May at Harold Pratt House!
Engagement in Chelsea NYC
Photographing an engagement session in Chelsea on a fall day bursts with energy and charm. The cobblestone streets and elegant brick buildings set the stage for intimate, cinematic shots. As the autumn leaves turn vibrant shades of red, orange, and gold, it creates a warm contrast against the cool, urban architecture. The soft, golden light of the afternoon filters through the trees and bounces off the buildings, casting a flattering glow on the couple as they wander hand-in-hand. This was the first time Claire and James got their photos professionally taken together. By the end of the session, they were so comfortable in front of the camera.
Chelsea’s historic charm provides endless backdrops and allows for various dynamic shots. I love capturing the couple pausing for a kiss throughout the Chelsea neighborhood’s Christmas-decorated frontway. Their small moments near the park with the fall yellow leaves framing them in the background were just stunning! The occasional hum of a passing car or the footsteps of pedestrians creates an atmosphere that’s distinctly New York. Whether I’m capturing a playful embrace beneath a canopy of golden leaves or a quiet moment between the couple in the middle of the street, the scene feels effortlessly cinematic. The combination of the season’s colors, the urban landscape, and the couple’s chemistry was vibrant and full of life. I can’t wait to capture Claire and James’ wedding day as their NYC wedding photographer!
